Senate Bill: Fall 2017 – #16
Title of Bill: Allocation of Funds to FUSG for Midnight Madness
Sponsor(s): Senator McNichol
Be it resolved by the Franciscan University Student Government (SG) that:
$3,000 be allocated to FUSG for Midnight Madness on October 28, 2017.
Recognizing that:
- This is an annual event put on by both by the Athletic Department and Student Life through FUSG.
- It is held in the Finnegan Field House. Doors open at 9:45PM and it begins at 10:30 PM.
- It’s purpose is to kick off the basketball season by showcasing the team, as well as the talent around campus.
- The first 200 students will get a free shirt and pizza.
- Students will have the opportunity to win prizes for games and the Super Fan competition.The prizes are largely donated by local businesses, and subsidized by what is not.
- $3,000 has been the event’s budget for the last several years. Ex!te typically helps as well, but this amount will be sufficient even if they are unable.
- It is one of the largest events on campus for athletics, bringing in over 400 students.
