Title of Bill: Protecting Reputations Of People Exercising Responsibility, Correcting Reckless Expectations During Individuals’ Terms, Illustrating Skill, and Dismantling Unthought Excuses Act (PROPER CREDIT IS DUE Act)

Be it resolved by the Franciscan University Student Government (SG) that:
FUSG add the following section to By-Laws VI:
- Proper Attribution
- Every recipient of funding from the Franciscan University Student Government for a campus event, of any amount, must state in all of its advertising for the event—including (but not limited to) print, digital, and vocal advertising of the event—and in all of its signs and introductory announcements for the event that it is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.
- All advertising must at least include the sentence “This event is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.”
- If the advertising is visual, then the Franciscan University Student Government seal must also be displayed.
- All advertising must at least include the sentence “This event is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.”
- Every recipient of funding from the Franciscan University Student Government for trips, objects, or anything else must provide for sufficient, visible, and apparent attribution to the Franciscan University Student Government.
- All advertising must at least include the sentence “This event is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.”
- If the advertising is visual, then the Franciscan University Student Government seal must also be displayed.
- For objects, it must have at least this perduring notice on it: “This is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.”
- All advertising must at least include the sentence “This event is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.”
- If a club does not follow these rules for an event, then they will immediately forfeit their budget for the rest of the semester and be limited to a budget of no more than $1,000 for the next semester.
- Such clubs may still request funding in accordance with [VI.C].
- If a bill is to be exempt from the requirements of [VI.E.1-3], it must state such in the text of the bill.
- If a bill contains this exemption, then it will need seventy-five percent of the assembly to vote for it to be passed.
- Every recipient of funding from the Franciscan University Student Government for a campus event, of any amount, must state in all of its advertising for the event—including (but not limited to) print, digital, and vocal advertising of the event—and in all of its signs and introductory announcements for the event that it is sponsored by the Franciscan University Student Government.
Recognizing that:
- Most students do not realize the central role the FUSG plays on campus.
- The FUSG ought to get the credit it deserves.
